Spend Time at the Beach

The charming and laid-back town of Long Beach, MS offers a beautiful, white sand beach, listed as one of CNN's Top 22 Can't Miss Beaches in the U.S. This quiet beach is perfect for swimming or wading, as the waves don't typically get too large - the nearby barrier islands protect this stretch of coast. Buildings are not permitted along the beach in this stretch of the Gulf Coast, which offers unspoiled views for the vacation rentals across the street, and it makes the beach feel even more relaxing and unspoiled. Lounge in the sand, build a sandcastle, or go for a walk - you won't be disappointed with a day spent at the beach! 

Visit the Long Beach Harbour 

There are a plethora of activites to enjoy at and around the Long Beach Harbour. Watch the boats come in with the catch of the day. Walk to the end of the Pier and be one with the seagulls. Pick up some bait at Willies and learn where the best place to drop a line is. Or grab a cold one and a bite at one of two harbour restaurants - Steve's Marina Restaurant or Perrish's Restaurant Lounge. There's always something happening at the harbour, including fishing charters, sailing, and other water activities. A great way to spend part of the day!

Friendship Oak Tree

Located on the beachfront campus of The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast is the historic Friendship Oak Tree. This beautiful oak tree is over 500 years old, stands more than 50 feet tall, and it's one of the most photographed attractions on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. If there were ever a time to be a tree-hugger, it would be on a visit to the Friendship Oak Tree.

Town Green and Parks

Long Beach is home to several great parks and community centers! The Harper McCaughan Town Green, for example, is a beautiful spot to take a stroll through nature or catch one of the many fun events throughout the year.
